Demonstrating our corporate conscience
At RRD, we take our responsibility to society and the environment extremely seriously.
We are a large, global business with many employees and stakeholders, and a range of activities that cross technologies and industries.
And yet, in everything we do (and in every place we operate) we remain committed to using natural resources efficiently, to supporting the health, wellness and safety of our employees, working closely with clients and our supply chain, and giving back to the communities in which we live and work.
It is not so much a corporate responsibility, but a corporate conscience.
RRD takes our corporate social responsibility seriously by:
- encouraging diversity and inclusion,
- participating in the communities where we live and work,
- minimising our environmental impact, and preserving and enhancing the health and safety of our employees,
- operating ethically and complying with government requirements, and
- continually improving the sustainability of our operations.
Meeting our social responsibilities and achieving corporate objectives are not separate. As multi-channel communications evolve, so too does the way we meet our customers’ changing needs; but how we manufacture products and deliver services is always in line with our sustainability, environmental, health and safety policies.
For example, from our associations with certified forestry initiatives to our sourcing of more sustainable inks, we work to minimise the environmental footprint of the products we manufacture. Naturally, we seek to transport materials in the cleanest, most efficient way possible — but when it comes to sending out customer communications, if we can encourage our client to go digital, we do.
We’re working to reduce energy consumption at all our facilities, where the safety of our employees is also a priority — the same employees who are volunteering and getting involved in initiatives to improve the quality of life for people in the communities where we operate.
